Hey guys, I have a question for you. If you use a 100% synthetic engine oil, and you run the engine pretty hard most of the time, would you still have to clean the power valves?

I worked with a former Yamaha Mechanic, and a former SRX 700 owner (98&02) and he said as long as I use a 100% synthetic oil I would never need to clean them, what do you guys think?

Thats WRONG!!!!!!,, wow a yammie mechanic saying that, you still
need to clean PV's at-least once a year(season)if not twice,you
don't want them pv's getting stuck and pulling the cables threw there $$$to replace,

even with good oil like Amsoil, klotz, etc, they need to be serviced,
by the way amsoil is a great oil for pv'd motors keeps them cleaner
longer..

Polaris and yamaha had the same service thoughts when the Pv's first came out. They quickly learned it was wrong. They need to be serviced.
If you have a valve hang up on a srx and the servo does it's clean cycle you could break a servo or cable both are far from cheap.
For oil I would use klotz.

My valves have been cleaner with the klotz over the special PV formula amsoil has.
