My sled takes around 8 pulls on a full choke in 30 degrees to start. Then it smokes a good amoutn and the smoke doesn't go away. I'm starting to worry. Cus last year the ignition box was shot so the thing smoked like crazy and wouldn't go anywhere on full throttle. I'm just worried because i awsted my whole season last year trying to figure out what happend. Anyone?

Is this on your "Blue and Fast" sled?
You may need to replace the powerbands,

The hard starting ould be a large amount of oil on your piston rings and the rings need to shed that coat before it will start. It isnt bad and if anything its good. The smoke is the burning of that oil. Put it on a stand and let it rip you will see or hear if it is bogging pretty soon and that can rule out your electrical.

Has it always been like this? Do you burn a lot of oil? If so you could always tune down your oil pump to run a little leaner. BUT dont go crazy.

Why would a bad electrical setup make it smoke? That just doenst make sense...
