I have been out of snowmobiling for a while, and just purchased a 02 700 classic with a m-10. Last year I rented a 05 yamaha rage, so this maybe normal for a 2 stroke.

While adjusting the track tension I noticed the clutch engagement is around 3500 rpm or so. It seems like that is going to get me into trouble trying to get the thing on/off the trailer and trying not to do a holeshot for every take off.

Is it just me, or is this a high engagement speed? I don't know if the clutch has been modified, not sure what color the spring is.

Thanks,

Rainman

Sounds about right. Mine is around 4000 rpm and my xcr 440 is about 5200.

Two-strokes can't produce the broad power at low RPM. A normal stock two stroke is right where you described and some can engage all the way up to 5000-6000 RPM.

Ya thats about as low as you would want it for 02 700,I think my 02xc700 was 4,000 stock now its closer to 5,000 with the EPI pro kit
