I have an 03 Polaris XCSP 600 with 7500 miles on her. Runs great, but last season I noticed a strange issue and wanted to know if you guys could give me an idea of what it may be.

When I'm ridding the lights on occation would go dim (headlight and dashlights)for a few seconds or up to minute or so, then they would once again go back bright. The sled doesn't lack power during this and runs perfectly fine. I only notice this at night as I'll be riding and the lights all of a sudden go dim then seam to click back to full brightness???

Any ideas, do I have a faulty stator???

Does it happen at idle?
My sled does that while idling, lights will get bright once a certain RPM is reached when the stator is producing full power.

Otherwise if it's only while being ridden, it's probably the voltage regulator. It seems to me that most problems with lights can be traced to the VR. This would also explain no loss of motor power.
