Any body know why push throughs are so much more than t nut studs and is it true that t nuts can ruin your track? I used to have a zr600 with 144 in the track and after 1200 miles and I only had 105 studs left in the track. They were stud boy push throughs installed buy the dealer when I bought the sled new. Are t nuts worth the savings?

push throughs are more expensive because the base of the stud is on it, on t nut you have to buy the base plate. if you use an aluminum backer on a 5/16 stud and tighten it correctly you will not have any pull outs. with the exception that you are not spinning over rocks or anything like that. under normal conditions you shouldnt ever lose one.

sound like the dealer just put them in, not installed them correctly.

I installed t-nut studs once and they were a royal pain in the a**!!! I recommend the push throughs, as you must always check to see if your t-nut studs are coming loose. Woody's or Studboy's are both excellent studs.
