During the snowmobile season last year I rode a 1972 Chapparral... solid i beam front end... and a hood and windshield that would never crack... Needless to say.
I made jumps in the fields that tipped to one side so you would hit it and it would spin you... well I built one that was at the dge of a 15 foot drop off and I attempted a barrel roll.. lol to get a better boost out of the engine since it was ancient... i bought some starting fluid that happened to be in a bottle about 22oz we mixed 2 bottles with one 7 gallon gas tank... you could feel a difference. I had trouble getting the fluid in a bottle but I found it at an hardware store!! i dont know if it was good for the sled but i could feel a difference with the pure ethyl in the gas

i dunno, to much starting fluid will dry out your cylinders and i imagine it probably burns hotter, which could lead to a piston meltdown, maybe not a good idea

Dude, you really have a messed up perogative. Barrel rolls seem like a good way to break your sled, and your neck.

You want octane boost go to local small airport and buy Avgas 100 low lead. All it is is leaded gas with high octane. Perfectly safe for any 2stroke. Don't put in an unleaded vehicle.

You mean I cant drop people off curbside at the local airport, but they will let you ride your snowmobile up to the pumps and fill up with Jet Fuel?

LoL no jet fuel is a grade of kero, kinda like diesel. You wont go to far on that he he. The small airports will sell you fuel in gas containers, the same fuel they use in the small gas powered planes. I know at Oxford we pull right up to the pump no questions asked. If you would like a list of airports near you that will gladly sell avgas to you let me know.

Is there really any benifit to running this high octane gas? All octane does is curb detonation. So if you never had any problems with that in the first place you would not see any benifit from using the expensive gas. Please fell free to correct me if I'm wrong.

IE is right, all high octane gas will do is fight knock in high compression engines, specifically 2-strokes. On a slightly older engine, anything higher than a 91 octane will just rob your engine of power.

Yeah, you will have a totally new way of thinking if you get a new sled.....it's like it is one of your children or something!!! Ok maybe not that bad but you get the idea!

i gotta talk to the old man 2night and see what he thinks... he broke his leg when he was younger and has a hard time walking outside for long distances so he likes the sled idea... as long as its a touring sled so he can strech out... i like to be tucked, partially kneel on seat, or stand through the tough trails

I must be missing something this isn't needless to say to me. I mean if I have a sled that is a tank and is hard to damage I don't immediately try! Or in this case try to kill myself. I must be missing something here. Oh I found it it is a screw must have come loose. Though it says Burnin on the head must have come loose from your head.

I mean I have contemplated barrel rolls but wouldn't attempt it on anything less than like a D&D 720 Sno Pro. Super light and big time power! I wouldn't even consider it on a little old sled that prolly gets off the ground just enough so at the highest point your head would be 1" off the ground.
