Knowing winter is nearly here finally got me motivated. I didn't run into as many problems as I anticipated, overall a fun build. The motor is from a cherry 03 Pro-X 800 & so far the only mod is the single SLP ceramic coated pipe/can. The skid came from the 03 as well (hope I don't regret that) but everything else is 04 XR. Just replaced the left trailing arm, put on the C&A's, did some painting, stripped/sanding the hood now, & just recently finished up on the console. Just a few more things & I'll be good to go. Can't wait for winter!

The sideways pictures were all rotated before upload but for some reason it didn't take.

I like it! What are you doing to complete the tank shroud?

I have a bigger clear tank if you are interested
I may be interested if it fits under the shroud/console. If it's the Edge style tank, I'm good. They look retarded on the XR, in my opinion. Let me know, thanks.

? stick with the Rev seat, then a 9 gallon tank fits under the shroud.

I have the tank & seat but the seat I have is too wide. I need to get a Summit seat or other more narrow one. The right Rev seat looks awesome & they feel good on the Rev but because I can't just swap them out with out modification. might as well check the shorty out first.

On another note, I broke my own rule & rode before the lagoons were frozen. I just went up & down the street a few times (gravel roads with a few inches of compacted snow/ice). This thing is a beast! A few more weeks & I can ride for real, can't wait. The hood, bars/risers, & a few small tweaks is all thats left.

Thank you, I'm loving how it's coming together. Names not Rich by the way. Yup, that's my boy Hostile. I also have his mother Missy who I've had for 10 years & a new addition about a month ago named Paco, all pits. If they're brought up right they can be some of the best dogs there are. On one hand it's too bad that they have a bad rep because some jack asses breed them to be the perfect fighting dog but on the other hand if they didn't, pits wouldn't be here for the select few (who can handle them) to enjoy them.

I love your sled. but don't like dogs lol.
Well to each his own brother, I love them both. Can't ride the dogs though! I nearly have enough for a dog sled team, just have to dress them up some north-face or something because they wouldn't last 10 minutes out there.

My friend has basically the same sled. 04 xr 440 chassis with an 04 800 engine. He had the slp pipe but went back to stock because that pipe got really close to the hood and components. I cant wait to try it out!

Still some tuning issues to take care of but everything else is good. I was out on my 3rd ride working out the kinks & this combo (480 mains/needle clip on second from top) is close. Figures too because I came home & was pulling up to the garage when the throttle stuck. I have barriers on either side of the driveway holding gravel in (gravel driveway) & I ran right up the one side. I bent my right side lower radius rod but no other damage. I'll get into it tomorrow night after work. All & all a bad ass sled, it's going to be a fun season!

Thank you all for the compliments. I enjoy the builds themselves but there is nothing like the feeling when you get out there on it. The "I made this" feeling makes all the long nights & busted knuckles well worth it.
