Does anyone know what kind of suspension upgrades you can do to a 1989 Indy 500. I have one that runs and looks great, but I'd sure like to have the newer style suspension with 10 or better inches of travel. I've seen some for sale on E-bay, but I'd like to know what would work for this model sled before I get myself in too deep.[?]

I've read about different people putting a extra-10 in the older chasis. Certainly can be done, aledegly. There is a skid on ebay right now for instance:

They are fairly common if you watch ebay, and 'for sale' forums here and on other sites.

Thanks for the excellent information on the upgrade. Now for another dumb question. I would assume that I would need a new track as well if the new suspension has more travel. Am i right in my thinking? Or can I use my existing track?[?]

15 121 in tracks are pretty much all standard size now,yes you can use your same track.you get around the extra travel by relocating your suspension mounts
