I thought I had everything planned out to take a look at a sled in Buffalo but now I found this. It's a 2006 Skidoo Freestyle with a 2004 rev 600 in it, I'm really excited about this one.. Here's what the ad said.

For sale skidoo freestyle with a 2004 rev 600 motor in it, 2500 obo give me a resonable offer, at the begining of the winter i got a mechanic to intall a new crank, pistons, rings, the compression is very good, the track is in good condition, give me an email or a call, thanks if i dont pick up leave a message.

Anything you could think of to check on this sled? How is the freestyle chassis? (other then the ugly headlights)

The Freestlye chassis is a POS chassis (unless you ride either like a 7 year old, or are 65++). The chassis is weak, ugly, and very not worthy of any punishsment Dont buy it

Honestly, I think I might still buy it if he goes down on the price a bit. It's going to be the best sled I can get within my budget and will by far be an improvement from the indy. Could I tear it down and brace the chassis at all?

It is not the best sled within your budget. Just because it might be the newest doesn't make it the best. You have to be patient and keep looking.

He said he would take $2000 for it. I don't know if you guys know how expensive sleds are here? I saw 3 01 mxz 700's, each for over $3500. A 89 XLT? for $1800.

I'd like to know how he crammed that big motor into that little chassis. Probably so cheap because he did a cheap job on the conversion. Remember, holes have to be cut in the bulkhead to be able to run a heat exchanger in the tunnel. Where did he put the coolant tank. How about motor mounts? Is it an SDI or a carb motor? Is it a 600 H.O. or 500ss? So many variables in knowing if this sled is worth it or not.

is that private or at a dealership, we gave 2200 for our 02 700 rmk, nothing wrong with it, 1900 miles and that was a a consighnment i bet the owner only put 1800 in his pocket

i say you need to shop somewhere else

someone on HCS has a 02 700 rmk verticle edge 156" for 2800 obo with a shit ton of upgrades

EDIT: here is a link to it http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=493412&st=0&p=5379416&#entry5379416

Thanks but I saw all those. I really want something more rider foreward, and 600 or bigger.

sorry didnt catch the canada part, whats the current exchange rate? the calculator i have is kind of old and has it as 1USD:1.16CAD, and at that rate a 2000 CAD sled is abround 1700USD making the 2800 USD sled i found a 3200CAD

so i understand your situation a little better, again sorry about that, should look next time

It's not the exchange rate that's the problem, the dollar isn't too far off from par right now I believe. Driving is the problem, my parents are way to busy to drive me anywhere and won't let me drive myself.
