hey gang,
heres what the EPA is looking for when it comes to the new regulations:
they are proposing more stringent standards on snowmobiles,atv,off-road motorcycles, and other off road vehicles, calling for the sled makers to lower corprate emissions, primarily hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide, by 30 % by 2006, and by 50% by 2010. snowmobiles owned prior to the effective dates will not be affected, and still legal to own and operate. so get that new sweet 2-stroke while you can, cause after a few years, it will more than likely be 4-strokes for everyone!

They are basically ruining our sport. Who cares about emissions? I think it's all bullshit what they say about everything going to hell because of burning fuel. If it was so evil, cars would be running on water or air or something. No matter what you do someone has a problem with it.

It's not the end of Two strokes.
2-cycle engines have been dramatically cleaned up by the Personal Watercraft industry. It used to be that the snowmobile innovations crossed over to the PWC's--now it's time for turnabout with the Direct Injection technologies that have dramatically decreased emissions while improving performance and fuel economy. You currently enjoy the EFI systems--it's time for the next step!
