Does a 96 xcr600sp have a thermostat?

what would cause sled to overheat while idleing for 5 minutes?

umm. No snow on the exchangers would do it. L/C sleds should be let idle for very long once they are up to temp.

There was a thermostat upgrade kit for that year and model xcr, see your dealer for more info.

Does this model have a thermostat?

If not, is the system suppose to be circulating constantly?

Engine hot but side coolers are not!

I hate to say this, but the 96 Xcr 600sp was pieced together from a bunch of other sleds. There were alot of problems with them. In fact Polaris had around 15 changes that should be made. Here is a link to a very useful site, this guy knows his stuff! Go down about 3/4ths of the way for your Xcr info.
