Timing is everything

Well, I called the resort in the Western UP for a trail report last Sunday. It sounded great, best riding of the season so far!
I'm scheduled to go there this Sunday till Thursday.
I'm thinking I timed the trip perfect.
Wrong..... The forecast for this weekend is 30-35 Saturday and 35-40 for Sunday.
The trails that they rated fair to good Monday are already down graded to poor to fair.
The last thing I want to do is trailer for 350 miles and have to sit in the cabin and watch the snow melt.
Oh well, it's just very disappointing when you have had a trip planned for almost 3 months.
I hope the bar is within walking distance, if I can't ride while I'm up there I'm going to drink my woes away.
Maybe I'll take up ice fishing?

This has to be the worst winter for snow in the midwest in history. I thought 2000 was bad. At least the trails were open for a few weeks in Northern IL that year and the UP had snow measured in feet on the ground.

Oh well the trip to the Up is cancelled or at least potponed for a couple of weeks.
The owner of the resort I was supposed to go to tomorrow called this morning. Bad news the warm weather has taken its toll on the trails in the UP. Areas of mud are common on most of the trails and warmer temps today and tomorrow are only going to make things worse.
Rather than drive all the way up there and really be disappointed I'm going to wait a couple MORE weeks and see what the conditions are like.
Most areas in the UP are on course to set records for the least amount of snow in January.
