got a nice studded Arctic Cat track. My dad wants me to put it on his 97 V-max 500. Same length. Same distance between slides and I think the lugs are the same spacing. They should be interchangable, right? anyone done this?

I think it should work just fine. If look at replacement tracks in a catalog, you can match the same track part # to all sorts of brands of sleds. I think OEM tracks (most) are all made by one company. I think your track would even fit my 89 Indy Trail, but I have a new one already.

I put a 136X2 on my 92 EXT that came from a Polaris. No trouble installing it but I did have to change the drive cogs on the jackshaft. It was way worth it but in hindsight I would have put 4 cogs on instead of 2 because it is prone to ratchet under large torque. Just my experience.
