I have just torn the top end apart on my zr 700 and I thought that I might as well give the machine a few extra hp.

I will machine the heads down to the lower limit of the factory specs. That is 0,4 mm (0,016") and will give a compression of 12,7 and a squish clearence of 1,7 mm (0,067").

I have also bought a set of boyesen reeds and polished my exhaust port.

Do you think it's safe to start with factory settings when I will tune the carbs, or should I start a little richer. How will boyesen reeds affect the jetting?

If I use an egt, should the temp be around the same at all throttle openings?

Are there any of you who have the same engine and know any good place to find more power? [:p]
