Hey guys.

I have to repair my tunnel because my track has eaten it alive:

Floor Wood Flooring Hardwood Metal

Green Light Metal Steel Automotive wheel system

Light Sky Wood Automotive exterior Metal

Vehicle Floor Automotive exterior Car

Blue Tire Wood Automotive tire Line

Sky Floor

Blue Water Sky Sea Calm

Someone told me about tunnel protectors, to help prevent this from happening again once it is repaired. Is every sled supposed to have them? What the heck do they even look like? Thanks guys.

they look like C channel strips of aluminum that are attached so that doesnt happen, most dealers can get them, I thought almost all newer sleds had them already

I just tore down a sled today and I was curious why the seat wasn't stock. turns out, the studs had ripped completely through the top of the tunnel. I figure the studs tore through the bottom of the gas tank as well, which is why a new seat was installed. The previous owner had riveted an aluminum sheet to cover the holes and had some tunnel protectors installed, which are practically brand new. I'll go get a picture taken in a little bit to show you what they look like.
If you want, classicCat, I could take them off and sell them to you. I live up in Champlin, so just PM me if interested. Otherwise they are going to the junkyard with the rest of the chassis.

It doesn't matter the sled, tunnel protectors line up with the track clips

fusions DO NOT come stock with tunnel protectors, those metal rails that are on the rear cooler are the rails the protector kit slides on to it basicly looks like extra thick hyfax. you can kinda see the end of it in this pic

How do you make sure they line up with the track clips?

What if your track lug sometimes is in the track clip area? Does this mean you can't use protectors?

on another note, you can still use the protectors even if some lugs are in the way it shouldent damage them. as for lining up with the track clips im pretty sure that these holes i circled in your pic are factory holes for them but im not 100% on that
