Just curious what’s everyone riding nowadays, older members, new members doesn’t matter! How do you like it? I finally upgraded from an 02 Polaris XC 500 I’ve had for over 8 years to a 2012 Yamaha nytro mtx and wow was I shocked...
Yeah, I would say you have/had two pretty different sleds there. Glad you like the new whip.
I sold the '99 XC700 and currently have a '12 600 Switchback - orange. It's nice but hasn't even made it off the trailer this year.
Our winters just continue to get more lousy and less worthy of the cost/pain in the ass of owning sleds (can you tell I've had it with them?). I visited Phoenix/Scottsdale AZ last week. I would take that all year but hear it gets brutal in the summer. 75-80 is good but 115 is too hot.
2017 SBA 800, probably my favorite sled I have ever owned "Iv owned 40 sleds in my life". Handling, power and suspension are all great!
2019 Pro RMK 850, used just for MTN trips. Does what it was designed to do very well.
Mess of 13 other misc sleds, 5 are triples, not all are pictured here. Don't ride these much, just novelties and something to tinker with in my free time.
You are not wrong, I have 5 scorpions. 3 of them I did full restorations on.
2 73 super stingers, 75 whip,79 whip and 80 TK. Most of them came from friends and family over the yrs, so I know the full stories behind them which makes it a little more fun.
My first sled that I bought new was a 1980 Scorpion Sting. My parents had a White 1973 Scorpion Super Stinger 440 just like the white one in your picture. First sled I ever drove. My parents also had a 1973 Super Stingerette. My parents also had a 1977 Whip 340, and my brother had a 1980 Whip just like the black whip in your picture. The Sting was the first sled my wife ever drove. Since them we have owned the following sleds:
1985 Polaris Indy 400
1993 Polaris Indy Sport and 1993 Polaris Indy 440
1995 Polaris XLT Touring
1997 Polaris Classic Touring
2002 Polaris Classic 550
2004 Polaris SuperSport
2006 Polaris FST Classic
2012 Polaris IQ Turbo LX
It has the sport’s best factory rear suspension (rMotion), with the best shocks the brand offers (KYB Pros) utilizing the easiest adjustment system (the Quick Adjust package). It also has the best injection system (E-TEC), the smoothest running big-bore two-stroke engine (Rotax 850), the best adjustable handlebar system (Forward Adjustable Riser) and best fit-and-finish (REV Gen4). With that many advantages, how could the Renegade X-RS 850 E-TEC possibly be overlooked when naming the Top 10 snowmobiles?
I’m a die hard skidoo guy, I’ve rode and raced all the Mach z sleds and have been waiting years for another Mach z to come out...since the last one built was 2007. Soooo I did something I said I would never doo and bought a arctic cat....a 2019 thunder cat This thing rocks
