I m thinking about putting indy 500 cylenders in my indy 400 and would like to know where my power peak would be then.

Most likely in the 7500rpm to 8000rpm range, same as your 400 probably. HP is around 80 I would bet with a fuji 500 (488) twin.

I'll agree w/ rip2, on my 96 Indy 500 it ran best at 7800rpm and I think it was 86hp.

Peak power on a Fuji piston port 500 is around 7900 to 8000 rpms with a max power of 75 to 80 depending on compression. The early models were the lower power rating and the higher power rating came in around 98 or 99. They are not the most powerful, but they are bullet proof.
