I am finally boring my 85 600 to 650. And I was wondering what all needs to be done to the clutch, carbs, etc. since there is bigger displacement. Cant wait to get it back together and see how it runs. Love that feeling. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

leave clutches and carbs the same, then possibly increase the weights a little bit. that should be about it...

if you want the best performance, you should have someone who knows engines check compression levels, see if any port work needs to be done, if the cylinders should be moved up or down. do you need pipes made. when the engine was bored some minor changes were made to the ports. if it was my sled i would have it dynoed so you know what your rpms are going to be. also if you have to retime it. you could just put it together and it may run fine. but on a bore out if you want some serious power you need to go all the way. if anything get the dyno done, otherwise how do you know what to clutch for what rpms.
