Stock engagement is around 3800-4000 rpms. I clutched my 98 500 Classic and it now engages around 5000 rpms. It gave it alot more torque starting higher up in the power band and doesnt feel so doggy know. For a touring model, the stock engagement is fine.
i find that 5000 is pretty damn high for a touring sled , i mean sure you'll have all the torque in the world , but it won't be smooth and it'll take it's toll on your cluth ,, trust me , you'l feel it at take off.
i thaugh that stock machines usually are under 4k rpm to engage ,, but that ALLL depends on the spring you have in your clutch
