i have '96 ultra. good shape, about 3200 miles. it was serviced in late jan. what do
i need to do to get my sled ready for the upcoming season. (aside from greasing it and getting new gas an oil)

I'd say check clutches, check plugs, check for mice and other rodents in airbox and exhaust. Check track tension, chain tension, chaincase oil, steering, brakes, then let'er rip

Did you put stabilizer in the fuel?
If not you may want to clean the carbs.
If you have any varnish build up you will notice performance problems. I've even seen green crap build up inside the carbs.
Just my $.02

If it starts & runs fine may not be needed.
