I just bought a Indy 650 and I am wondering what octaine gas to run. I know under the hood it says to use 88 but the previous owner recomended 93. I am also wondering what kind of performance to expect out of this snowmobile.

to me the power is similar to an xlt 600...top speed is prob 100 maybe alittle more...not sure..i would have to find a nice long stretch to find out.
I use 93 octane in my sled.

There is no need to run 93 octane in that sled, run 88 or 89 and you will be just fine. You won't see any power gain or difference running 93 octane unless the owner that had it before you did something to the engine.

I run 94 octane in my 650.... but I had the motor built, it's far from stock.. 650's are pretty quick there 'used' to be a ton of after market for them.. but because of thier age it's pretty much faded.. I have no trouble keeping up w/ any one I ride whith.. my sled has at least ten years on most of thiers..

Like erick said, you won't gain anything if the engine is stock.

You don't have to believe everything you think!
