caincat; As a longtime Cat man, and having owned ZRT's and ZR's, I strongly suggest you go with the ZR800 - It will be more nimble on the trails, more apt to "float" well in deep snow, and mods for suspension and engine parts are more accessible and cheaper. ( ZRT's are 3 cylinder and if ya wanna install reeds, pipes, etc. you will pay much more in the long run) As far as the overall performance, STOCK ZR's accellerate better from a dead stop, but the ZRT will excite you 25mph and above just as much..... Both sleds are very dependable !
I currently have a 2001 ZL800esr which is clutched, reeds, studded, etc. and the ZL800 ( Much like the ZR800 ) is terrriiffffic fast and is a trail carver. I like riding it as much - if not more, than riding my stock 2009 F8 ! Good luck in your choice ![thumb]
