Just got this advisory notice from my weatherbug on my pc: WhoooooHooooooo!!!

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

THURSDAY NOON...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR
EARLY THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

SNOW WILL BEGIN ACROSS NEW HAMPSHIRE BEFORE MIDNIGHT AND SPREAD
ACROSS MAINE DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. THE SNOW WILL MIX WITH
SLEET ACROSS INTERIOR SOUTHERN AREAS. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL
BE 3 TO 6 INCHES.

THE MENTIONED ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SNOW AND/OR ICE IS FORECAST TO
DEVELOP IN THE AFFECTED AREAS, BUT ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
LIGHT.

That was just for my area, because thats what I have my desktop weather programed for. I believe the advisory is for most of the state.

I just got a winter storm warning now from my other desktop weather program. Its predicting 4 - 8 inches of snow!!!!!!!!!!

SCOTIA. THIS WILL LIFT MOISTURE INTO DOWNEAST AND CENTRAL MAINE ON
THURSDAY...WITH LITTLE SNOW ACCUMULATION IN NORTHERN MAINE.
PRECIPITATION MAY MIX WITH RAIN AT THE ONSET...AND ALONG THE COAST.

MODERATE IMPACT...
HEAVY SNOW WILL COVER ROADS AND REDUCE VISIBILITIES MAKING TRAVEL
DIFFICULT THURSDAY. HOWEVER, NO SIGNIFICANT BLOWING OR DRIFTING SNOW
WILL OCCUR AS WINDS WILL REMAIN LIGHT DURING THE STORM.

THIS WARNING MEANS THAT A HEAVY SNOWFALL IS IMMINENT. EXPECT ROADS TO
BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY. YOU SHOULD ALLOW FOR EXTRA TIME FOR
TRAVEL. SOME REMOTE ROADS MAY BECOME DIFFICULT TO USE WITHOUT A
VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH 4-WHEEL DRIVE.

I'm getting that storm right now here in NY. We were dismissed from school earlier today at noon. Enjoy the snow when it gets to you. I know once I get up tomorrow I'm outside. Here's my Weatherbug alert..[:D]

A Mixture Of Snow, Sleet, And Freezing Rain Will Have A Tendency To Switch Over To Mainly Snow By Early Evening. Snow Could Fall Heavily At Times Tonight. Snowfall Accumulations Of 3 To 6 Inches Are Expected Overnight, Along With A Thin Ice Coating Early In The Evening.

winter storm warning here in sagadaock county, bustin the sled out in a few minutes for a quick ride around the yard!

Cool, my radar pic gets updated constantly. Be nice to have something like this on the front pg of the forum for the different areas of the snowbelt.

This pic was from this Feb. 2002 in Maine between Pittsburg, NH and Rangley, ME. Hopefully we'll have smooth trails like this year.

I sure hope so! Thats a great pic, must of been an excelent day of riding you had there. I'm unfortunately hearing rain for this Fri and Sat in the central Maine area. I keep telling myself that its still early though.
