Has Anybody used the X-Caber Studs. I was wondering if they hook up any good on ice. (lakes) The studs are carbide tipped.

I'm not familiar with @X-Caber, but wouldn't any carbide (= good and hard) tipped picks hook up good on ice?

I'm not familiar with that particular stud.
If you run mostly on ice, you'll want a narrow stud that has a fairly sharp point. (60 degrees or less) You'll want them to be no longer than 1/4 inch past your lugs as anything longer will cause too much track deflection.
Unfortunately this stud would not be very durable if you need to run much pavement, gravel or rock. If you only ride where there's lots of snow cover than that wouldn't be an issue.
