that would probably be perfect for him. Its got nuts but not to much nuts and it will last him a while. is the motor rebuilt or are those original miles?

well thats a few miles but hell it might still be good for a while before a rebuild is needed if they didn't beat on it too much

id be more worried on how it was taken care of then how many miles it has. Bring a compression tester and that will tell you how good of shape the motor is in. I picked up my 98 xc 600 switched to the gen. ll chassis for a grand with 5,900 mi. just a few weeks ago

That would be a great sled if the motor checks out (compression-wise). The Edge suspension will ride real nice and he'll be happy on a 500 for a long time. And the price is good.

Is your 13 y.o. ready for a 105 hp machine? Personally, I'd him on a 340 or 440 fanner.

i found a 2000 Polaris XC Indy 500, mint condition, 1400 miles. Wife's sled - never rode
XC 500 or Indy 500? XC has the domestic twin w/o VES valves low 90s hp. The Indy 5 is the Fuji 488 twin about 75 hp. Pics?

High mileage, but those 500 motors are bulletproof. Just look it over very well, that's not a bad price for it either. I see guys trying to get $3,000 for 02's and 03's with more miles on them than that.

500's are VERY easy, easier than any fan motor. You can turn the motor over once and they fire up, ONCE WARM. When they're cold its a little different.

I have 4 sleds in the garage, one starts 1-2 pulls cold, one starts 1-3 pulls cold, one starts whenever it feels like and one takes 10 plus (89 indy sport). They all start in half a pull warm. It all depends. We have a 00 indy 500 w/ the 488 fuji and its easy to start, im just not sure how a 13 year old would do...
