My 1992 xcr 440 bogs on the start but then it picks
up normally and is quick.......why does it bog down??[:(]

Boy...sure are lots of 1 post wonders needing help in the shop area these days.

Sounds like secondary spring is broke or needs to go tighter, or pilot jet is wrong or plugged, or air screw not set right.

Adjust belt deflection. The belt should stick above the sheaves of the secondary clutch just a little bit when sled is not moving. This will give you your bottom end back.

if the springs are original or more than two years old, replace them, they could be sagged, cuasing the machine to shift up a little fast on take off. this would be after a good old fashiond tune up like the others have said.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, i will start with the simple things first and then move on the complicated projects if things don't work
