Hey guys, of course this sled always amazes me but I just came up north for the holidays and it's -25 C so the XCR is running minty.

Actually yesterday it wasn't back shifting very well so I thought I better inspect the secondary clutch, sure enough two of my buttons were blown out so I replaced them all and man is it working well. Just opened it up on a short stretch of groomed trail and it hit 120 mph. That thing has stupid power. Traded with my Dad on the groomed trail and when got off he says, "your speedometer needs to go higher than 120!". Shit I said why?. "because I had it WAY past! "....NICE!

Also got a free holtzman from him. He had one from his old Ultra that he sold so we installed it today as well. I am pumped about that, can't wait to try it when it warms up.

Just another reason to not buy a newer sled...why down grade?

toss in good gas milage
quiet exhuast
good wind protection
flat handling
easy starting
and lots of power to be had
other than better track, shocks and lighter weight the new 800's really got nothing on this sled. oh there tippier so there easier to handle off trail.

the rush 800 is over 100 lbs lighter, with its better track and less weight it should flat out smoke an xcr in drags.
even better yet it would be fun to start building hp out of each engine. who can get to 200 hp and still make a great wide power band. the polaris has proven that much over 170 and you are at pure race setup and you wont ever see 200 hp out of a pure motor rush. the motor at 170 is pure max for pump gas and cant see it living very long at that. i have seen xcr 800's spinning 9800 rpm have a wider tunning window than all 3 of the windows from the big 3 combined.
lets see how it does this fall in the amsnow shoot out. the 800 xcr did 102 mph in very sloppy conditions.
the rev 800 is even lighter yet and is still 3 mph short of the world record that was set by a heavy machz 800.

Now a Rush WITH an 800 XCR engine stuffed in, now that would be the sled!! But i'm sure the brainiac engineers at Polaris figured out how to build the Rush so that it'll never be possible to stuff a real engine in it, i'm sure after watching guys like madcow build triple powered Edge and IQ R sleds that outperformed and embarrased the twin crowd, i'm sure the "brilliance" that is polaris made sure that'll never happen again! go look at a bulk head of the new sled, polaris must have seen all the triple edges making them look bad and they did fix that problem.

oh well, price makes twin kits as well so if i go to a twin it will be a real one!

To tell ya the truth I don't even think there is room for the current motor. Good lord, I had to put plugs in at 500 miles and there was barely enough room on the clutch side. I suppose I coulda taken the top of the hood off but that sucks. Still, a small price to pay IMO.

^^^ But hypertriple how can this be? "Everyone" knows the new lightweight twins are far superior to the old, heavy, outdated, antique, dinosaur triples...don't they? [box]

Just think if that shoot out XCR would have had some 22/40 gear and 400 or 410 main jets....

Huh, i have two triples(xcr800 and xcr 1000 in edge chassis) and two twins (IQ800 and 990 in edge chassis) And i wouldn't want either triple on any trails no matter how flat they are. My iq will absolutely smoke them. How can that be? No speculation, speaking from experience. How about the rest of you? Now the lakes are a completely different story. Some of you diehard triple guys need to expand your horizons a little. There is this thing called power to weight ratio. The shootout is one thing, trails are a whole differnt ballgame. The shootout comparison from year to year is like a comparison of one dyno to another, and we all know what an arguement that can turn into. Some of you sound like Johnny skeptical from the yami videos.... stuck in the past.

If there's room in an IQR for a triple, there's room in a Rush.

I know this is off topic and way off the 800 triple discussion, but for the best "trail" sled (and i mean the twistiest kind)I'd take an late 90's vintage XCR 440. They are low, light, and fast, heh at least up to 80mph [thumb]
