Well this took a couple days in the garage and everything worked out perfect. Just swapped out the old xtra-10 rear skid in my XCR 800 for a Edge. Got the suspension off ebay from a guy in MN. It's out of a 05 XC 700 SP. It is in immaculate shape and has the Fox PS3 shock, which I don't know much about but it looks a lot beefier then my old fox shock. I ended up just using my old front brackets and mounting them an inch or so forward. That worked very well. The back ones I went with 10 Gauge galvanized to get the strength of the originals. I used 1/4 allen head bolts with lock nuts and loctite. I think this is going to end up to be a very nice upgrade. Pretty happy. Here are some pics.. 2010124175255546_13024.jpg

This suspension is wicked. It hooks up very well, gives me almost 4 inches of extra travel and works wayyy better with my ripsaw track. For some reason my old xtra 10 wasnt' ejecting snow efficiently enough through my tunnel and it would feel almost like my hifax were sticking at high speed in powder and groomed trail. Must have been snowdrolic locking or something. Now it spins freely, much much better at high speed with no resistance under the tunnel. It is set up pretty stiff right now so I think i'll soften it up a bit. I'm only 170 lbs and I think the other guy had it set for over 200.

70 miles and counting.

I put an edge skid under my Gen II before last year, and I couldn't believe how much better overall it handled. My back thanks me every time I ride, too.

Nicely done. [thumb]
