I was looking at swapping engines in my sled. I was wander if anyone could tell me which year xcr/strom 800 engines were best. most hp and most reliable. Any info would be great thanks.

stock xcr 800 engine and pipes are best, little easier to fit into chassis.

96 and later. Either storm or XCR, they're both pretty strong and reliable.

he xcr 99 and up was more powerful and had the ves thay have a fugi crack and the cylinders are liberty

what mods would i have to make to fit a storm 800 engine into a 1996 xcr 600? are the engine mounts the same? will the exhaust fit and stuff like that?

'97 Storm (stock) was the best year for the most hp. '99 XCR engines were prolly the most hp - that depends on who you want to listen to. '99 - '03 XCR8 were the best triple-triple Polaris ever made. WL

if your xcr 600 is the agressive style the 99 xcr 800 was also the agressive style easy swap everything bolts right in
