Hi everyone. Been scouring the forums the last few weeks trying to find some measurements of where the bolt holes are for a 1996 XLT SKS with 133.5" Xtra-10 suspension. I've found lots of of 121" and 136" swap numbers including JB Shocks diagrams, but nothing specific to the 133.5".

I've got a 1995 XLT SKS with the XC-100 rear skid that pretty much toast at this point. I've located an Xtra-10 133.5" skid and looking to mount it up in its place. If anyone had an XLT SKS from 1996 and newer with the Xtra-10 in it, I would greatly appreciate to now where your mounting holes are located so I don't mess anything up changing things out. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

If that was an option for that generation of sled the fsm will cover it. I've not done this particular skid conversion but should be pretty straight forward. I would just try all factory holes. The rear should have two positions while the front may not.
If not, install the rear bolts and then lower the sled until the front of the skid touches the track and ground at the same point that the rear does. Limiter straps should be fully extended. Mark it and drill it. If that area of the tunnel is not reinforced use large area washers to keep the tunnel from wallowing out.
Most times skid mounts, regardless of length, will use factory holes. But converting a different Gen skid to a sled might require some trial and error. A skid not installed will have the upper mounts at fully extended position with limit straps at full extend. Measure front to rear at bolt holes and compare to the tunnel. If they don't match, some hole drilling will be needed. Don't try to flex the skid mounts to align the factory holes, at least not more than a quarter inch.
Don't forget to compare tunnel width to the skid mount width.

Thanks for your reply. I should be pulling the sled in the garage here soon and start work on the swap. I ended up buying a 1996 XCR 600 chassis that someone had swapped the 133.5 skid into, so there might be some helpful measurements there provided it was done correctly.

I appreciate the help, thanks again.

Sorry for the late reply. I have just recently measured my sled, a 96 indy trail touring 133. Unforturnately I do not have those notes here. if you are still interested I can dig them up for you, probably post sometime next week...
I do remember reading at one point that the 96 was one of the 1st years of the xtra 10 and that on some? all? sleds it was really only an xtra 9. I did notice a descrepency when I took the measurents as compared to the jb shocks numbers but I cannot recall the specifics off hand.

Thanks Jay. I actually just did the measurements and drilling in the tunnel today. Interestingly enough, I took possession of a 96 Ultra SKS that has the same Xtra 133.5" skid I am installing on my XLT. Took the measurements off the Ultra and transferred them over to the XLT, made for easy work. Should have it all buttoned up tomorrow and try it out soon hopefully.

Please post of the measurements as well. I will add mine to the thread in a week or so. it will be interesting to see if they are the same. And how they compare as the jb shocks 136 version. thanks.

Here are the measurements I took from the 1996 Ultra SKS to replicate on the 1995 XLT SKS. All measurements are done from the underside of the tunnel.

11 11/16" from the Hex on the driver down the tunnel, and 5 1/8" down from the top.
27 1/8" between bolt holes, and the rear hole for the tunnel bracket is 5 1/16" down from the top of the tunnel

Hope that helps someone tackle this in the future.
