I have a Polaris XLT/XCR 1995 and I want to put a different engine in besides a tipple.

My last engine went out again.

Are the wedge chassis all similar. Could I drop in a 600 twin engine from a 1998 snowmobile?

Or an indy 500 twin engine? Would like to explore other options also. No tripples

both of those motors would fit
Would an XC 600 / XC 700 twin fit also?

would there be any needed mods to the chasis to make the XC 600/700 engine fit?

they dont fit unless you make a custom bracket on the pullrope side but the pto side should bolt rite up. i did a thread on how to put a indy 500 into a 650 chassis.

also i believe the steering setup is different between a triple and twin motorplate...also probably need a new oil/coolant tank.

dont downgrade on motor. i put a twin in a triple chassis and had to switch it back.put a ultra motor in it or the alike. go with a newer triple they are cheaper also and will be an easyir swap

^^^he said no triples.

The easiest swap of all is no swap. just buy a different sled, and sell your blown sled. (or part it out to get the most money out of it)
