My Yamaha SRX is currently reving up on first start. It reaches close to max rpms and only stays there. I have heard of air leaks through the carb boots and other things like that but wanted something directly for my issue. It would rev up so high the clutch would pull in like high rpms but all at a idle. There is clearly no belt on it and the primary clutch weight broke because of this. I need information and things to do before i waste another clutch again.

check them boots sounds like a big air leak , unless throttle is stuck,try not to run long u can nuke it, other than that check crank seals

we have had problems in the past getting the boots to sit right so i think this is whas happening.

Is there Any chance something in the carb could not be running correctly or could be stuck. Just looking for all the options
