We know a guy with a 99 yamaha vmax 600 SX. We ran it on the trails a few times this year and it runs great and everything, but sometimes it just randomly dies, like you hit the killswitch. Im almost postive it has something to do with the throttle safety switch or whatever but how can we bypass that or fix it? Thanks

Have had that problem with every Yamaha I've ever ridden. Follow the wire in the back of the throttle block. It should go about 18" down the wiring harness and you'll find a plug. Unplug that. TORS ( Throttle Over Ride System ) on Yamaha's were prone to failure.

Unplug it and were good to go? nope.
you need to plug the wires you just unplugged back into themselves. the carb side doesnt matter, but the pair leading to them does. wont run if they arent plugged back into themselves.
