Greetings all!! New member here! A question for the wrencheads!! A friend of mine has a 96 ZRT on which he is trying to replace the seat. We've both looked through our manuals and can't find anything about how to remove the seat. Does anyone have any experience with one of these? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

most of the time, you have to drop the track and suspension and there will be some bolts or screws up under the tunnel

My Yamaha has two nuts on studs inside the trunk space that were 'hidden' in the foam. Near the back on each side, you can try there.

My Xlts have two nuts on studs up under the tunnel. Harder to get at, but more obvious.

I wouldn't have thought a need to drop the track to do that, just a small deep socket and ratchet should do once you locate the nutz.

I think you will find the nuts in the trunk space to take the seat off.
You should have 2 nuts in the trunk and the heads of the bolts in the tunnel.

96zrt has 2 bolts in the trunk remove those and the cowl over the gas tank and slide it out to the rear. the seat and the tank are 1 piece.

Bingo Spaceman! You'll also have to remove the gas and vent lines. Make sure the tank is empty!
