A buddy of mine just gave me his 97 ext. The wires on the main harness were burnt, but not to bad. At least it was noticed in time and didn't melt 30 wires into one like our Polaris. Any ways I picked this up with the top end torn down, and right now i just want to get the wiring fixed as i am waiting for my pistons to come in. My main question is, i have 3 connecters under the hood. Two which run up to the headlights and gauges (6 or 8 Prong) and then a 4 prong blade. It has the other end connected to the main harness with little pigtails on it, i cant seem to find where these other wires are tied into the system.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Is the 4 prong one square? If it runs down near the chaincase, that would be for an optional electric start battery hookup, which all sleds had .

It is not the 2x2 square. It is a 1x4, exactly like a 4-way trailer hook up. And it is coming off the main harness were the 4x2 and 3x2? plugs are (the front of the hood, where it pivots and all the other plugs are). I have no other broken wires unaccounted for.

Is it/was it EFI?
