I just recentley bought this sled and it seems to maybe have an electrical issue. Runs great but no tail, brake or head lights the tach and also the gauge lights are not working. The kill switch also is not working but the key switch is. I also need some info on wireing up the hand warmers the old ones had 3 wires each te new ones only have 2 wires. Let me know where to start looking thanks for youur help!!

I was looking down near the mag tonight and have found a large square unplugged terminal block..Looks like the other end of the block is pinched under the engine mount looks like somone had th engine out before I bought it! I will have to loosen up the mounts to get the wires unpinched

That is most likely your problem. Fix the pinched wires and you should have your lights back. Solder any broken wires and tape them well as using butt connectors in this area, you will have a problem with corrosion. If the wiring isn't the problem, replace the stator.

The stator in this engine is an integrated one piece unit with all the coils incorporated into it and has to be replaced as a unit. It costs about $200 online.

The repair procedures I outlined in the other post, is only for a setup with individual coils such as the 1990 Indy 650 has, and was only on the ignition system, it didn't cover the lighting coil.

With the engine OFF, you can test the resistance in the lighting circuit in the 700 RMK with the harness unplugged by testing between the # 1 Pin (yellow) & the # 3 Pin (Brown) on the engine connector where you should have between .12 and .15 ohms. The harness must be unplugged to get the proper reading.
