To put a liquid cooled engine into an air-cooled sled would be VERY labor intensive. You have to find all the radiators, run hoses, and pretty much disassemble the sled to get it in. The engine mounts will be different, too. You may be better off selling the 500 and finding a 700, the cost may be about the same.

 

How much would a crate 6 or 700 be? im kinda thinkin about puttin one in my 440 someday, but not for a while. im sure when i get it done it would be around 2000-2500 right?

 

2,000 to 2,500 would be alot. You can get a new 350 crate motor for a car for about 1,000 dallors.

 

Yeah but a used 6 or 700 is about 1500-1700. so im sure a new crate engine would be around 2000-2500.

 

I paid 1750 for a 2001 XCSP 700 from Tracks USA, complete with carbs two years ago, engines are spendy.
