I'm in. What we first need to decide is where we're going. My vote is for a return trip to the North Shore and as Greasemonkey suggested we should stay further inland.

Once that's decided we can figure out who can head this monsterous project up.

My initial gut reaction is to say no girlfriends/wives. However, if it's understood that we will not turn around because she's tired, cold, etc then I have no problem with it. I by no means dislike riding with women. I take my wife on trips all the time. I dont take her on rides where we will be putting on 175 tough miles in one day, surrounded by guys that dont want to listen to my wife bitch and moan. My wifes a great rider, but I wont push her limits to what we do. You should think very very hard about if you want to bring her. We will be taking you to some great areas, you wont want to worry about whether your loved one is having fun or not.

This will not be your average trail ride. In fact if conditions are right we wont see the trail a whole lot.

All that being said, anyone who feels that they can handle 150-175 miles, through the woods, fields, swamps and trails is welcome. We just dont want people thinking this will be a 75 mile trail ride with a nice warm lunch in the middle. We ate lunch in a field last year...

The Dress, MUST make the group ride. There WILL be a group photo with the dress.... I wonder why she hasnt asked for it back [:D] I cant believe Doug hasnt gone in for that Tricep.

Since there havent been any objections to returning to the North Shore, I think it's decided... Isabella here we come. I need to double check my schedule, for that last weekend in January but I think I'm clear.

I'd say we need about 10-12 of us to get together to plan this thing out. We got close to having it planned properly last year. I would say about the second week of January we'll have a real good idea of snow conditions in the area. I think at that time we need to put 4 routes down on paper. After that we need to split up the guys that ride the area to lead those groups. Unless there are any objections, I'll get ahold of a few of you that were on the ride last year, to be involved in the planning...

So as of now we have the Location Set. The Dates are set. Next up, the Ride Planning, which will lead us to food planning. I think that about covers it...

Just to get the blood flowing, This is how we roll on the north shore.

Due to how peoples plans can/will change between now and then it will work out best for people to make their own reservations. We started down the group idea last year but it didnt work so well. Some people were only coming for the day, some that talked about going didnt
etc.....

I hope to be there friday by noon again, ride the afternoon and come home Sunday afternoon. Saturday will be the Big Group Ride. Sunday was anyone with energy left to ride and or sled in one piece to ride [:D]

We're going to ask that you have a parent with you. None of you are 18 and we will not be responsible for you.

It wont be a balls to the walls ride but it isnt a meandering stroll through the forest. 175miles on saturday, 25 people split into two groups. We had all levels of riders and had little to no problems.

We stay away from trails as much as possible, The ride will be difficult at times and due to where we ride is subject to obstacles not normally found in the trail. There were a couple of wrecks last year, but they were all single sleds hitting buried objects. So the possibility is there for someone to get hurt. This is why we want a parent with anyone under 18.

This year probably will be a little different. I think with the number of people talking about going we will have more groups, which means there could be a group that sticks to the trails... We wont know for sure until the time gets closer.

Moral of the story... will we scare you, probably. The only fear it will be is you afraid to get stuck[:D] Never fear though if things go right, that's they way it's supposed to be. I got stuck last year, ONCE, I upgraded sleds so that I wouldn't have that problem again [:D] All fears are cureable.

We had plenty of shorties last year. No problem at all. Also sorry for my long winded reply I didnt see everyone elses posts until I finished posting.

The official feelings of Snowmobile Fanatics, If you are under 18, A parent must accompany your group. It cannot be a friend over 18. This parent must go on the ride as well. Trust us when we say, We wish we could just let anyone under 18 go. Unfortunately there are too many liabilities for those of us over 18. For those of you that live around me, I will be happy to talk with your parents.

So can I go?? hahaha, I'll see if I can make it this year..with school and everything. =(.
What, who's that.... [;)] If you agree to all the above conditions of course you can go, dont bring your boyfriend though, we dont want to babysit him [:D] Welcome Back!

Yep last year was a great time, this year will be even better. There are only 2 cabins left at Knotted Pine for those that still havent made reservations.

This year I have 5 other guys coming with me. We'll need to do a Roll Call around X-Mas time so that we can get an idea of how many people are coming. Then we need to figure out how to split up the groups and who's leading.

I'll give it a shot, drag race across an open field of powder.... we'll see who's laughin then...I'll even leave my old sled at home ...[:D]
