Bunch of losers, I bought a 2004.5 Sportsman 500 HO last year and got around 250 - 300 miles on it. Then this spring about a week after warranty was up the fan on the engine started running for no reason. The dumb thing was just sitting in the yard.
So whatever, I loaded it up and brought it to the dealer, not surprisingly it was just an electronic module that was toasted. $140...
The guy said he had done a bunch of these things already and it just happens out of the blue, on 400's and 500's, 2004 model year. He phoned Polaris to get warranty or some sort of compensation because it's something that is impossible to be the fault of the owner and no dice. So he told me to phone them, so I did and same story.
I'm pretty annoyed, I know "when it's over it's over" but give me a break, I've given them enough money, I would think they could have a little bit of leniancy. I mean if it was a year after warranty was up, ok, but a week?
Polaris people in general keep pissing me off, the dealer I bought my sled from insulted me last year when I was looking for this ATV.
$11,000 for my sled and like $9000 for my ATV, and they couldn't stomach a $140 electronic part that failed for no reason whatsoever. Assholes.
