At work there is a guy that just bought one of them solid bottom lifts for his motorcycles. He has big harley dressers and doesn't like bending over the change the oil and stuff.
Anyways, he told me how good it would be for a snowmobile. I told him that IMO the only thing that it could be of use for is working on front suspension (if you put a jack under the front of the sled to get the ski's up), or getting the rear of the sled to hang from the ceiling, drop the lift down a few inches, and work on the rear skid since there is no weight on it.

Now, the reason for the post. He is going at it with me because I said it would be useless for engine work. I said it would be like trying to work on a motor sitting in a bathtub lifted up (bathtub would be the belly pan analogy).
I said for $800 to make it easier to work on my front suspension and rear (if you can hang it from roof).. not worth it to me.
