I'm in the process of learning about jetting carbs for snowmobile engines. This is what I did. I have a 2003 arctic cat zl esr 550 engine. I bought 2 38mm mikuni carbs off ebay but they were for a different snowmobile than what I have so of course didn't have the right size jets, needle, and needle jets. I know I will have to change the main jets for Louisiana and the heat I will be running in but my question is can I just put correct size specifications for the jet, pilot jet, and the jet needle and only change the main jet? Or do I need to go down on the others also? PLEASE HELP.

Ok I personally do not have any experience in jetting a sled for summer but have looked into it before and didn't find too much..... with that being said I would drop the main jet quite a bit and the pilot jet as well as for the needle and needle jet I would try to keep the same ones and just raise the clip on the needle to lean the mid range out a little.... the important thing is to keep an eye on plug color and piston wash you need to change your jets and do a little testing to see what works
