I was stopped at the beginning of the season w/ my MOM. Dad was in Louisiana hunting with uncles. So I "took mom out to lunch" oin the sleds. well we were riding a ditch trail that is one ways on either side corresponding with traffic. We had seen the DNR earlier on the other side of the orad on the way to lunch.

This trail was just opened/created MAYBE 2 years ago. So everyone knows its new. They checked for state trail stickers and registration. We had regs but no state trail sticker. We have gotten our regs in the mail since my parents bought the sleds and they have never notified us of the required state trail stickers. When i took my safety course they never mentioned anything on this either.

They let us off with a 'warning.' But I think they took advantage of riders not knowing that it was a state trail. I know that many people have rode that ditch years before it was a trail just for ditch banging; and know they still do.

I guess what I am saying is that I thought THAT was a rip off. I cannot imagine the 'sting' mentioned at the beginning of the thread.

As for what kind of sleds they ride???
-one had a AC touring sled, panther i think?
-another had a red yamaha, apex something maybe?
**Both were stock looking unless you got close and looked into the details. The yami actually sounded aftermarket, maybe a slincer? But they are defintiely "undercover" because I would not have recognized them if they werent stopping everyone. They even were wearing average Joe clothing.
