TatooJay show me a sled that weighs 470lbs with gas oil and coolant? And I dont care how light your dry weight is when you get stuck and your sled is packed with ice and snow every sled weighs a f'ing ton! I would bet you dont see much difference when digging out a Apex or a M series. But thats just my opinion, I have never personaly dug out either of the two.

Well i listed both dry weights and the Apex is a lot heavier when trying to lift her up out of a hole. I can easily lift my sled one handed and im not a big guy. Two people can easily pick up my sled and walk off. Ive tried it. And any mountain sled is easier to get unstuck than an Apex mountain. Its an extra 130lbs youll be lifting and to me thats a big difference. Like i said earlier i like the Apex but i dont think it makes a good mountain sled unless you add a $5000 turbo.

in my opinion, i think it could keep up, its got the weight in its favor, and i really like the looks. all i know is that if i was looking at a sled, it would fit the bill

I Have...To tell you the truth, the Apex mountain had enough Horse power to throttle out, once I got it level...However I haven't gotten one stuck facing up a steep hill, that may be another story.

So how much would you say this Apex weighs with the snow and ice???

I personally like the new look! However looks aside, 80 hp is still no slouch! I mean, i've had fun on 25, 60 and 110 hp sleds in the past. As i've read today, they basically took two YZ250F-cylinders and put them on the same crank. Then they added fuel injection and tuned it to 80 hp, with a redline of close to 12000 rpms! I mean, with the four stroke low grunt and the high revving capacity, it'll probably feel like a bigger engine. I for one seriously doubt i need more than 80 horsepower, as long as i've got throttle response and high revvs. It should be a blast! I want to test one!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you have an XCR 800 before your M7? The Apex would be much easier to get out than that. I think this ugly little sled might be a surprise in the powder. Good track, comparable weight to any mountain sled, looks easy to throw around. I wouldn't mind throttling up on one.

I still have my xcr and i would never want to have to dig that out. Thats why i wouldnt take it in any extra deep powder.

Yes I am sure it can, but I would bet everything I own the M7 in the vid wasn't stock either. Even though at the beginning of the vid it states both sleds are stock, it's obvious the Yami has a turbo...

see now with a 500 cc four stroke that sled is only a viable option for kids maybe up to age 12. looks like there trying to compete with the skidoo freestyle which is should do. but if they just put a 440 two stroke in that chassis making say 90 hp it would be a world class sled. make it reverse cylinder with straight under seat pipes and you keep the tight body work. that would be one hell of a sled but only the two stroke engine can make that happen.

sleds are constantly evolving to more function over form and this is a good example. it looks like a 4 wheeler with a track and thats not a bad thing. but of course people are gonna cry foul because its not shaped like a bathtub with a bench seat on the back and a track underneith.

But carry it how far?? Me and two buddies could pick up my SRX and walk off with it too. What's the difference? I've tried lifting an M7, they are definitly lighter but it's not like two guys can lift one up and hold it there while they're smoking a cig. Every modern day sled is heavy except for the Mini's.

so say you double the HP with a turbo now your making what 100-110 hp. thats still nothing to brag about. if i had the oportunity to buy one of those wrecked or salvage i would pull out that abomination 4 stroke and put in a pol or cat 440 snopro/ prox motor. that would be a fun ride. ditch all the electric start BS, battery ect and the sled would likely be lighter than stock and have 100 HP.

Not by my math. 80HP X 2= 160HP

If they can get 160HP out of these motors with a turbo this will be the sled to buy.
