I have a 1992 Polaris RXL 650 EFI. Has been sitting all summer and fuel was drained last year. Went to move it and had a problem. I turned the pump on and pulled it over to find out every time you pull it over it sprays gas from under the crankcase (i would assume it is and overflow plug). I figured it was flooded so i turned off the pump and disconnected the battery. Took out the plugs and pulled it over to dry it out and it sprayed fuel three-four feet out of each cylinder. It ran fine last year when i parked it. Please help.

Did you have the battery disconnected before the first try? I had a "similar" issue once when I managed to connect the battery wrong way round, the fuel pump ran all the time and the engine literally flooded lol.

EDIT: What I mean is that i had negative and positive connected the wrong way and when I turned the key the fuel pump kept on running, nothing else obviously did not work.

I'd bet the hose going to the fuel pump is broken! I believe they ran under the crankcase.

He started 2 threads on this, in the other he said that his fuel pump is controlled by a switch. (apparently the relay failed and it was replaced with a switch) http://www.snowmobilefanatics.com/forum/topic/134248-92-polaris-rxl-flooding-leaking-fuel

What do you mean by "turned the pump on"?

The pump is controlled by the ECU, you don't turn them on manually.
My sled has a toggle switch for the fuel pump
So, with that said, I'm confused. How could a cylinder drain plug have disappeared over the summer.

But aside from that, Look for a blinking light on the ECU, it should be spitting out error codes for the injectors as it appears they are running wide open.

It may also be sending another error code for the TPS sensor.

You can look up the errors below in the chart. (RXL is "Type One")

The switch is acting like a key so ill refer to it was the key.

The ECU isnt throwing any codes when you turn the key on. it just blinks until you shut it off.

If you're referring to the light on the ECU blinking, that is what's giving you the error codes.

Long blinks are the first digit of the code.

Short blinks are the second digit of the code.

Then cross reference to the chart.

its not actually throwing a code is what im saying. ive had to read codes before but what its doing is just flashing on off. like turnning off a light and back on over and over. Is there a way to test the ECU to see if its bad?

Get video like this of the flashing..
