anybody out there know if i set of factory triple pipes from an 99 800 xcr will fit on a 97 ultra touring with the 680 triple? they are both aggressive body and i am putting a belly pan from the 800 on my 97 ultra i just need to know if the pipes will fit the engine, ie will the exhaust flanges bolt up to the 680? if they will does any body have any guesses on changes in jetting or any idea on horsepower gains? any info would be great

thanks guys
scott

Pretty sure they would.

They will not work because of the XCR having VES. You will have clearence and fitting issues and will probably be better off in the long run getting the correct pipes for it.

I forgot that they had the VES in the Aggressive, then it prolly might not work.

These might work and for the money your sure not to get hurt if you got to resell them. http://www.snowmobilefanatics.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=40036

That is not correct. Even the 680 and 800 used different pipes and the effects of using a set for an 800 would not produce optimum power.

ive been told more then once polaris uses the same stampings on the 6-800 pipes. I know for sure the 600/700s are the same cause they use the same part #. If they're so different why does HTG use 600 pipes on their 8/900 big bores.

Maybe the pipes are designed for same RPM, Heat range, porting, but either way if the pipes aren't made for the specific motor it will not produce optimum power. SLP and Aaen both make seperate pipes for the 680, 600 and 800.

yea I was talking stock tho...Polaris using the same pipes for all three is what makes the aftermarket companies able to get 40hp more with just pipes. The stockers worked, but they have lots of room for improvement. I'm using modblasters from a 700 on an 800 mod motor.

wow thanks for everybodys in put, here is what i have come up with. after getting my hands on a set of pipes i can say they will bolt on no problems there, and they fit the chassis and the belly pan with no big mods. my problem now is that the pto pipe goes right threw the battery box, opps i guess thats why polaris didn't make a sled with electric start and triple pipes. if any body out there has or knows of an exhaust system that will work im listing. somebody has to make a three in to one set up that will make a few more horse power or maybe just a silencer that sounds a little better but i dont want loud. thanks to all

You need to relocate the battery for the pipes to work. I used to put my battery in the left front corner on my RXL's when I installed pipes , with Aaen's. What pipes did you end up with ?

the 600 and ultra use the same pipes, the storm uses different pipes.
