First off shut off the gas. there should be a valve by the airbox. Then start it up until it dies. This is probably drained enough as you will need to clean the carberators in the fall anyways.

 

If you want too, you could fog the engine. Then after it is fogged turn off the gas. Pull the plugs out of the bottom of the carb(on the end of the hose) and the bowls will be drained. Then it will be safe from corrosion over the summer. In the fall, turn the gas back on and pull with the plugs out to get the gas flowing back through it.

 

Also take and manually turn the oil pump lever while its running as that will ensure everything gets a good thick coat of oil.

Just be careful when you drain the carbs that it doesn't flush the gnomes out!

 

Yeah shut off the fuel and run it till it dies,or if youre hardcore and want it all out,pull the airbox and pull the traps on the bottom of the carbs,just have like a cut off pop bottle to catch the gas if you dont want it to run all over.

 

I just did mine. I put in some Fuel treatment and road it around for a while then I shut the gas off and held the oil pump wide open till it died. Then the taped off the exhaust and carbs and took the seat off. It's inside but I don't want any mice or anything getting in it.
