This is my first sled, a 1998 EXT 600 Triple. Pretty much all original equipment on this sled, so most components are 1998 vintage. Just got it last Thursday, and found a few issues since it was stored all winter until I bought it...

Short runs close to home indicated the problems, so I did the following...

Compression Test showed the left head at 125 psi, and the others at 105 psi
Needed to change the belt
Took apart and cleaned all three carbs (some blockage)
Plugs were changed
Fluids are all topped up
TSS and Kill Switch Harness were causing bog outs, so I had to disconnect them

Are there any other issues I should be looking at prior to a longer run to reduce the possibility of breaking down on the trail?

Any and all advice is most welcome, and I appreciate any help you can offer!

Thanks!

Well, make sure all your wheels are intact on the skid. also check your Sliders, and while you're at it, check your wear bars under your skis to make sure you can turn alright, they should have carbide on them still. Also check your track for any torn lugs or possible cracks/dry rotting of the track. might wanna put some dry gas in to get rid of possible condensation that had formed, because if your sled is outside your gas line could freeze. Also grease your suspension in your front and rear (you should see grease fittings which a grease gun will fit. Also make sure the grease works down to really low temperatures) and...check chain case oil. and that's about all i can think of. Good luck!
