Alright I wanted a Sno Pro 440 and I was just wondering how they are in the mountains. I was thinking that they might do all right... geared low, kinda big track, light and snappy. What do you guys think, I would also like to boondock with it as well.

they're fun little boondocking sleds. Not much for climbers though. They'll hold thier own in the deep snow but not on the inclines. A good rider can do a lot with them though. The altitude has a seemingly larger effect on the smaller motors also, I don't know how high you plan on riding but that's also something to consider.

When you talk abuot the altitude, do you mean that I will have to re jet often?

It's a normally asperated motor and so you lose 3% power for each 1,000 feet in elevation. This power loss will be the same with any motor that does not have forced induction (Turbo etc)

SnoPro will be an OK sled, but you would be far better in the mountains on an actual mountain sled.
Look at your favorite brand in the 600cc range with a 144" or comperable track.
You will be much happier for much longer with that.
