I am going to look at a 92 Phazer II tomorrow and I am not sure what the differance between these are? I am fairly knowledgeable about the 1980's phazer 480 f/c.

Is there anything specific I should look out for on this model? its a 92 phazer II with 3400 miles w/ electric start. said to run good. $500 obo. Also this has a two inch track which seems over kill. but the price seems right. the track would cost $500 if purchase new[:D]

Got it!!! It looks really good. Belly pan is straight and compression was 125 on both sides.

It hadnt been run since last year so it took a bit to get it going. So I think I will take the Carbs apart and clean them and drain the fuel. .

Heres the pics, I am charging the battery and getting ready to rebuild the carbs. Seems to run good but rich. I will take things apart just for piece of mind.

I own a 1990 phazer 2 and I own a 1980's manual. I noticed some differences.
1. The front suspension is a lot different. The older models have the scissor arms on the back of the strut and an oil dampener assembly in the front. 1990+ models scrapped the assembly and put the scissor arms out front. The newer models also have different springs in the struts.

2. The older models have a smaller track. It was 116.5 or something screwy like that. Newer one have 121x15; or in your case, someone modded it to be like a mountain lite.

3. The seat is also different. Older seats are more pointy at the ends.

4. I think electric start and hand/ thumb warmers are standard. Mine has them.

Tips/ suggestions...

1. Get the shim kit for the tss!!! It will improve steering!!
2. Keep good care of those skis, they're pretty darn expensive.
3. The shock towers seem to always take a lot of abuse. Check to see if they are straight and have any dents in the towers.
4. Take apart the front suspension. Take apart the scissor arms and inspect the bushings. All of mine were seized. I hammered them out, cleaned them up, and applied generous amounts of anti-sieze. Also inspect the bushings for skis.

500$ was a awesome deal!!! Phazers were the strongest runners in there time and are extremely reliable if you take care of them.
