You're better off calculating your actual ratio rather than judging mileage. Fill up your gas and oil tanks and ride awhile (the more the merrier). When you're done, measure out some gas and oil and fill each up to where they were when you started. Mark down how much you used and you have your ratio; adjust accordingly if you feel necessary.

MANY people have turned up the pumps on the Pro Rides as they feel the factory ratio is a little light.

 

I have 2 friends with 800's. They both turned up the pumps, not sure what their ratios are, and they put in the "fix" kit.

I have a 2011 Assault Switchback 800. It is running great and I have about 2,500 miles on it. I am burning about 1 quart of oil per 200 miles of travel. Does anyone have a comparison usage? The setup is stock (I have not made an adjustment). In the past, I have used the 1 quart per 100 miles rule of thumb... Wanting to make sure the stock setup is not dialed back too low. Thanks.

Mine is using a very similar amount of oil, but as Quinlan mentioned your better off to fill it full of both fuel and oil and the measure out how much you used after a ride and figure out your exact ratio.

I haven't turned my pump up either.

 

The newer CFI's are running so lean now to meet emissions criteria. Many riders have turned up their pumps. Ideally if you run a good synthetic oil (Klotz, Amsoil, Ipone etc) you can run at the factory ratio (i've heard its between 80-100:1)Typically newer 2 strokes run in the 50:1 - 65:1 ratio, anything more is a waste.
